Buy Vinyl Records

Is this a good deal……..?

I just bought 10 original vinyl Beatles records for 20 bucks. They’re all in pretty decent condition too. Is this a good deal? :)

What Vinyl system should I get?

HI all!
Thinking about setting myself up a little vinyl retreat in the study. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what equipment to buy? Currently got an old school Pioneer deck with a couple of knackered Wharfedale’s as speakers. I’ll be using it mostly to just relax and listen to some old blues records so it doesn’t have to be top end to start off with, just something to get me started really.

So far the Wharfedale Vardus VR-200 have caught my eye, and the styling on the PRO JECT Debut III Record Player – matte black appeals. Anybody got any pros/cons on these bits of kit?
Cheers!

Is it ok to store 10-inch records with 12-inch records?

I just bought Kid A on 10-inch vinyl. The packaging is smaller than the 12-inch records’, so I’m wondering if it will do any damage to store it with the rest of my records. Should I only store 10-inch with 10-inch, and 12-inch with 12-inch?

it two parts to this question so bare with me?

Asmall record store buys used CD’s for $4 ea. and used Vinyl records for $ 2ea.. The store then resells them at prices of $9 per CD and $7 per record. The store’s total operating expenses, including store space, rent, and employee wages, come out to an average of $240 per day.

A. Assume that the store sells only CD’s and records. Write an equation in two variables, with c representing CD’s and r representing records,to show how many CD’s and records the store must sell per day in other to break even.

I found a very old poster in an orig. Abbey Road Beatles album I recently bought and have no idea what it is?

I am a very big Beatles fan and recently bought an original vinyl record of Abbey Road, by the Beatles, from the year 1969 off of eBay. I pulled out the record today to take a look and out with it came a folded up piece of paper. I unfolded it could tell it was pretty old, probably around the time that the record came out. On the front was four pictures of the band. They are sitting in a field on the top left picture, standing in front of a bush on another, standing in front of a door on the bottom left, and in the bottom right are Paul and George standing under windows with Ringo and John in them. On the back of this poster is the word “BEATLES” written with an apple to the left of the work. On the bottom are the words “ABBEY ROAD.” In between these titles are almost a timeline of the band’s work. It goes year by year to famous songs and albums they came out with, and also includes tours and concerts they played. What exactly is this poster? Did it come with the original album? Or did the original owner put it in there as some kind of memento? Either way, I just want to know what this is. Thanks in advance.
I do not want to sell it as I just bought it. I am a very young Beatles fan and intend to hang on to it for a long time. Lol sorry.
That picture in the link is one of the four pictures, but it’s in color and taken from a higher angle. Thanks, though, because now I know where they were! lol

Cheapest vinyl online?

Good morning R&P! Well, today is payday which means record shopping for me, the only thing is I had my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday (ouch) and actually GOING record shopping is outta the question. Does anyone know any sites (other than e-bay, amazon, the record label’s site, AYP, smartpunk) where I can find relatively cheap vinyl? I’m usually looking for very specific stuff (punk rock, pop from the 60′s to the 80′s, rock n’ roll, new wave, etc. etc.), but also if anyone knows a site that might have the equivalent to like a $2 bin, that would also be greatly appreciated. Or if you’re a seller of vinyl on e-bay, send me your link! I actually had some luck buying some vinyl here in R&P last week! Hope everyone has a splendid Friday, and if you party tonight do some partying for me!

BQ: What’s a record you’d like to have if money was no object?
BQ2: Do you still have your wisdom teeth?

Old hi-fi system without a non-directional input- help?

I have an old pioneer hi-fi system that I got working again recently to play vinyl records, and I bought some second hand kenwood speakers to go with them.
The speakers have a non-directional blue and grey wire input as well as the main red and black input. However my hi-fi system only has the black and red output which works fine but there are large bass speakers on the kenwoods which I would like to get working but don’t appear to as I have no non-directional (blue and grey) output from the hi-fi to feed in.
Can anyone help me out with this? Anyone know a way I can get the bass speaker to play?
