Do any cd’s work on them like maybe like ones i burned?
Can you scratch like records? if so will it wreck the cd?
can you mix the cd w. the other cd playing?
and what else can cd turntables do…
whats bad about them?
in your opinion which is better vinyl turntables or cd turntables?

Does anyone still play 1200′s?

Sure I see them in videos with DJ’s that are not really doing anything. Does anyone still get down on the 1′s and 2′s? It seems that CD’s and MP3 are taking over, I want to know if anyone still gets down on 12′s. I don’t mean using Serado or Tractor scratch, I mean playing vinyl and getting into the grooves.

It makes sense that people have moved beyond it, a record bag as I remember it is very heavy and you can fit an entire library on a matchbook. But there is something about being able to manipulate vinyl with only skill and not electronic and digital correction to make it sound good.

denon dn-s3000 vs dn-s1000?

so i have a set of 3000′s, run a time coded setup, and there great, but as ive added to my dj setup with a midi assignable keyboard im coming to a problem. when i use the 3000′s and the keyboard the way i like to, the lag that comes in from releasing the platter and letting it catch up is messing my mixes up. i have vinyl and the platter emulates vinyl, im wondering if the 1000′s are exact meaning the second i take my hand off the platter does it resume at the play speed or does it too need time to speed back up? im really looking for that exact feel. i manually loop on the fly through my keyboard, meaning i dont set the loop, and i dont want that split second of speed back up time. i dont want those “vinyls is all a real dj uses” comments because i gave up on vinyl when i couldnt do what i wanted to do (touch a cue point in the begining and the end with out moving a needle instantly) or was limited to just using whats available on record. thanks

Looking for a great music media program better than Nero?

My husband loves his music, he has thousands of CD’s and vinyl, used to be a DJ years back. He’s pretty handy with computers and is always recording his vinyls onto his hard drive. Right now he has Nero (not the most recent version, but I don’t know which one) and I wanted to get him something better that focuses on just music applications. He’s built his own computer and it runs Ubuntu. So…

Any good music programs (recording, mixing, filtering, whatever) that you know of, especially ones good for use with Ubuntu?

Thanks for your help.

Know anything about turntables?

I am planning on buying my friend a turn table for Christmas but I’m having a hard time with it because I don’t know what to look for. My budget is around $200 and I want to get one that like DJ’s use where you can scratch vinyls and mix music just like on DJ Hero.

All of the turntables that I have looked at I’m not sure if it scratches or not, they just look like regular record players…..please provide helpful links and what type of stuff I should be looking for, thanks!

I need help with chemistry really bad?

There supposed to be from the periodic table.

21) An alloying agent in steel & an active ingredient in poison ivy lotion, its silicate may be cubic but it won’t last forever (sorry, girls…).

22) Originally thrown away as a “fool’s silver,” now considered more valuable than gold, especially by recording artists (and DJ’s who spin their “platters”). is it platinum?

25) Has your car been acting up? You may want to check the antifreeze or oil or gasoline or vinyl seat covers or…yourself!
