Im not sure what LP means on ebay?

im trying to get my boyfriend the new album of band of horses on record.. because i think they made those for a limited edition and im on ebay and it says “Band of Horses LP lot Everything and Cease MINT SEALED” what does LP mean? here is the link… they look like records to me.

any help would be apreciated.

Why not have a turntable next to your CD Player in your set up?
The sound of records can be enlightening, records are authentic, and records can be fun.
Compared to the modern digital formats, the analogue LP record, with its signal engraved in a vinyl disc, may look poor at first glance.
However, do never forget that it is still the only medium (apart from the reel to reel tape recorder) that can contain the most complete and most structured signal providing great dynamics, having the widest frequency band attainable, and has the most refined detail over the entire audio spectrum and far beyond, which no other format can deliver.
The analog LP is not restricted to 16 bits and a limited frequency band, but has 700 bits – so to speak – and the minute upper harmonics which digital formats are missing. The simple reason is that the original LP is analogous in nature.
If your CD outperforms your analog set-up, then you do not have the right combination of components.
Most of you under the age 25 grew up with CD’s, so not fully understanding the advantage of vinyl is not your fault!
You must decide, what’s more important; the space saving indestructible CD (you can spread peanut butter on them you know)…or the almighty sound of a slab of vinyl!
True, having a good high end turn table will enable you to hear music the way it’s meant to be heard. These tables can range in price from $2, 000.00 all the way up to $100, 000.00!

USB turntable connected to a Mac?

I’m using a USB turntable to convert my vinyl lp’s to digital format. It works fine, but as I record the songs on the lp’s, it also records any noise in the background, such as me talking to someone else. When I used to record from lp’s to my cassette recorder, it didn’t do this. Is this normal?

Need help Vintage college basketball Western KY VS Univ OF KY Mar 18, 71 Athens GA?

I found in my girl friends estate she has sealed 33 1/2 rms LP two piece vinyl record set of Western Kentucky vs University of Kentucky. It is from the NCAA Mideast Regional Semifinals.These records contains introduction of players to the final buzzer and play by play of that all important meeting featuring the voice of Wes Starder WKCT,Bowling Green KY.It says these albums are collectors items. Does anybody know if these might be of any value. These records are in mint condition have never been open or played. I could not really find any information over at e-bay. Anybody have any insight ?

What are the letters and numbers etched into the portion of the vinyl(lps) between the last song and the label

I just started collecting lp’s, and I have noticed that the ones i have looked at have things like “SP-3211 M” etched or carved into them on the area of the vinyl between the last track and the label. From the appearance of the characters, it is evident they were done by hand. Im 28, and didn’t really grow up with records, so I’m not familiar with them.

is there a difference between an LP, and a 180 gram LP?

2 month anniversary.. need ideas? ?

i know im lame. but i cant help when i see something for my boyfriend i have to get him it. and our 2 month is next week. and i found this LP record of one of his heroes. and i really really wanna get it. its a collectable and really hard to find.

but im torn cuz people keep telling me to make him something. im very creative in the “arts” department.. but he collects vinyl records and its his hero. i think that would go over better than some cheesey poem or hand made card..

what do you guys think? i mean he tells me he loves me and hes bought me jewelry. and i love hand made stuff.. but im not sure hes that type of guy..

Significant Other by Limp Bizkit-only one LP available?

I tried googling this and couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I am hoping some Limp Bizkit fans out there might know!

My husband had his records stolen in college, so I am slowly replacing them. He owned a copy of Significant Other. I find them on ebay, but they are all RED VINYL. Were there 2 releases of the LP-one regular and one red? Or are all of them red? Thanks in advance!
