Unusual symbol related to records or LP’s?

Hello, I recieved a business card and it had a strange symbol on it.

A Picture of it:

Does anyone know what they are called or what they do?

Any info on them would be great. Since I am young I don’t own any vinyl but hope too.

Thanks.

Does technology exist to download LP’s and cassette tapes onto the computer?

I have a lot of Long playing vinyl records and cassette tapes that have music on them. Is there any way I could download them onto my computer or a CD so I can preserve them better

Trying to indentify some vinyl records…?

I’m working with a bunch of old LP’s, all of which were recovered from a fire and are too warped to play. They are all missing sleeves and labels. I do have the serial numbers for a lot of them and I’m looking for a good website where I can search by the serial numbers to find out what the albums are. A regular google search has not turned out too many helpful links. Any suggestions?
The labels are completely burned off except for a couple so we already know what those are.

Searching individual record companies sounds like a good idea, I will try that.

The records are part of an archaeological site so we’re trying to put together a discography of what kind of music was being being played before the fire.

Do you still listen to vinyl records?

Although many of them 45′s/ LP’s are replaced on CD or download, there’s just something about putting a record on a turntable. Even though you have some replaced, do you still listen to “the original records?”
Wow…glad to know I’m not the only one. I still have my 45′s in the old record boxes with the latch in front. Many still in the original paper jackets. I just can’t bear to part with them. My Lp’s too- but it’s the 45′s too many memories of youth. My first record I bought? My Boyfriend’s Back on the Smash label.
Punisher- finally we have something in common. LOL
Greg, I agree with you there. My turntable is in a family room and when I need to escape for some “My own time,” I’ll listen to some records. And oh yes, poor spelling (unless it’s not a first language) drives me nuts too.

Converting LP’s to digital??

My husband has a large collection of old LP’s (vinyl records). He wants to confert them to digital so that we can enjoy them again.

Can anyone recommend quality hardware that will copy his old music to digital with high quality sound?

What are these handwritten numbers on my LP vinyls?

I have a handful of vinyls, so far, in my collection and I’ve realized something on a number of them. On various records I’ve noticed, what appear to be, a handwritten series of etched-in letters and numbers on the inner black part of the LP (just outside the label). I’ve seen them on my latest Jay-Z 12″ single, as well as my parents’ hand-me-down original “Footloose” soundtrack from 1984. What are these numbers/letters?

Buying Vinyl Records?

I want to surprise my bf this Christmas with a collectible Beatles Abbey Road Vinyl Record, but I need some help. What is the best one to buy? I don’t understand the “lingo” and unfortunately I cannot just ask him. I can chose between

1: “Original Apple release #SO-383 (green apple on label). NOT a gatefold. Vinyl in good to vg condition with a little surface noise audible on some of the softer sections. Plays and sounds great.”

2. “Orange label stereo pressing. Superb condition! Cleanest I’ve seen in years! Record near mint!! Gatefold cover super clean! Historic recordings and art-work”

3. “Classic LP on Apple! Record super clean. Cover nice with minor wear! Historic recordings that will ALWAYS sound best on vinyl!”

4. “Capitol Purple label stereo pressing! Record is near mint! Best I’ve had in years! Cover nice too! Historic recordings that will ALWAYS sound best on vinyl”

5. “Original 1969 Apple vinyl stock copy pressing, SQ-383. Original Apple labels w/ “Mfd. by Apple” on bottom of label.”Her Majesty” is listed on label & cover. The original 12″ vinyl disc appears to be in very good order w/ some superficial scratches and or scuffs . Some low surface noise. No skipping. According to the Goldmine standard scale I would rate the overall vinyl condition VG. (Very Good). The cover is intact & appears to be in very good order. Sturdy spine & seams I would rate the overall cover condition VG.”

6. “VERY GOOD PLUS or VG+ CONDITION. COVER IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. Record shows some wear, light surface scuffs, and or very light scratches. The vinyl still has a great luster, but the flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye. VERY GOOD COVER:Some seam splitting, shelf wear, and ring wear, corner and edge wear”

7. “GREEN VINYL”

What is best? Green, apple label, purple label, ect? I want the cover to be good for thats a huge part of it. I appreciate feedback on this! Thank you so much!
