what type of turntable do i need?

I have a Sony compact a/v system model DAV-FC7 and I want to get a turntable to play old records / vinyl. what type of turntable / turntable features do I need in order to make the turntable work with the Sony system?

How do I take proper care of my vinyl lp’s?

My mom gave me her old record player so I’ve been listening to alot of old lp’s, pink floyd zeppelin etc. Anyways lots of them are kinda dirty and sound scratchy compared to the newer issues, how can I properly clean them to get best quality?
