Old Vinyl Records

Can someone tell me what this commercial is ?

A young couple has a lot of old vinyl records and the girl goes to work or somewhere, when she comes back, the boy has replaced all the records with an ipod station or something like it. At the end the words “go digital” come onto the screen. ???????? There is also a song playing the whole time.

Who loves vinyl records?

Yes, I am just as addicted to my ipod as the next person, but there is something about dropping that needle onto the spinning disk and the big cover art and rummaging through old records. I also swear that behind the clicks and pops there is a sound you can’t get anywhere else.

Does anyone else agree?

I especially love my (well technically my Dad’s) Beatles records cuz im a Beatles fanatic!

where can i go to figure out how much records are worth?

What is a vinyl record referred to in Spanish?

So we call these in abbreviated form as ‘records’ or ‘vinyl’ as in the old way of recording and distributing music. One can also say something like ‘I am going to spin some vinyl’

Are there equivalent for these sorts of words in Spanish culture today (especially the younger generations)? I am a bit curious as it might not be so common as it is in the States because it is such a trend there at the moment.

I have an idea for a gift for one of my friends, whose birthday is coming up. I want to cut a vinyl record to look like a peace sign.

My questions are:
Will I be able to easily cut the vinyl? Will it shatter when cut? Will it cause a sharp edge on the vinyl? Does physically cutting vinyl (especially old vinyl) release any dangerous chemicals?

Sorry to sound so clueless but I have no idea on this subject.

Do vinyl records still play with writing on them?

I have a vinyl record released in 2008 (so it’s not some of the old generations). I was planning to have it signed, and I am wondering if it still plays with signatures written on it like CDs can. Can they still play when written on or no?
