Record On Vinyl

Did old vinyl records lose sound quality as the needle got closer to the middle of the album?

I was wondering about how they played at 33 and a third rpm and it would seem like the needle(when on the first track) was meeting a lot more “stuff” because the outer edge of the album was moving faster then the inner part.
tom- I held one of those once. they’re pretty heavy. Yes…Thank God for cd’s! but even those will probably fade away as music can be had anywhere now without them.

Queen’s greatest hits vinyl both sides say side two?

I have a Queen’s greatest hits vinyl record and both labels on each side say Side Two and have the same tracks listed on the label. The grooves on the record are not the same, it is just the labels that are the same.
Also is it rare?

Tips for starting a vinyl record collection?

In a few days, I’m going to be ordering my first turntable from Amazon. As a music lover, I though this would be another great way to enjoy my music.

My question for you is, do you have any tips for me on starting my collection of vinyls? I’m into classic rock, punk, and indie, so any essential records I should get would be greatly appreciated as well.

why do old vinyls records hold more songs per side than modern vinyl records?

Ive noticed the old vinyl records hold anything from 5 to 10 songs per side on a 12 inch disc, but ive been recently buying vinyl albums of new bands, and they normally ahve 3 songs per side.. i find it too short and having to swap sides to quickly. why is this is there a reason?

Where could I find an Adagio vinyl?

Does anyone know where I could get a hold of any Adagio record on vinyl?
Their merchandise is near impossible to get in the US, so I was wondering if anyone knew of good websites to search.
It is for a die-hard Adagio fan, but he doesn’t have any of their records on true vinyl.

Why did vinyl records come back?

Vinyl records don’t make any sense. Can you listen to it in your car or boombox? No. Hip is something you wear. I melted my records in 1987 and made them into salad bowls. I let my toddler finger paint on them. Everyone says “Oh records sound better.” How much sound can you squeeze from a vinyl groove. Have mercy on the record and let them die a quiet death. Again.

Need help finding the name of a Vinyl record?

I remember walking into a music store one time and I saw an interesting record. I don’t remember the name but it had purple ‘mist’ on the front, and some of the song titles I remember are “The Edge of the Blade” and “The Vikings”. I can’t remember anything else. If you have an idea of what record this is or who it’s by, then please post!
