Blur returns with first single in 7 years…?

Great news for Blur fans: the band will release their first single in 7 years to celebrate Record Store Day (17 April 2010). The song is called “Fool’s Day.” It will be available on 1,000 limited edition 7″ vinyl singles, to be sold at 150 participating locations in the United Kingdom. “We want independent record stores to continue — they’re an important part of our musical culture,” Blur vocalist Damon Albarn said in a statement. “Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support and we hope people will like it.”

It is the first Blur single in a decade to feature guitarist Graham Coxon.

This is amazing news! Blur are my favorite band. I was hoping they would record new music and I can’t wait to hear “Fool’s Day.”

I have been looking for a special ed , youngest in charge cd or recording for years.. every time i see something on amazon it is sold out.. the only thing i found on ebay is vinyl. does anyone have a cd recording of this

Lady Gaga tickets for my girlfriend. Good or Bad Christmas gift?

Thinking of buying tickets to lady gaga concert for girlfriend, would YOU be happy with this? Or would you prefer I spend the $400 (Price of two tickets) on more personal gifts, like jewelry etc.

My girlfriend’s (19) favorite artist (or at least one of them) is Lady Gaga. The concert is not until March, and tickets are quite expensive since it’s sold out. But I came across two tickets, that are $200 EACH for floor seats.

Now what I am asking is would YOU be happy with a gift like this? Or does it seem like I didn’t put any thought in it? I am terrible at gift shopping, typical guy I guess. So in your opinion as a girl, would it seem like a disappoint all you got for Christmas was tickets for a show 3+ months from now? Would you think to yourself “I wish he would of spent that $400 he payed for two tickets on something more personal” ? I also picked her up a big hard cover Lady Gaga book, a couple Lady Gaga T-Shirts, and a Lady Gaga vinyl record.

best independent RECORD STORE in DENVER?

Im looking for a place that sells new vinyl not a place loaded with all cds or a place loaded with records that deserve to be in a thrift store.

Psych/electronic/indie whatever

labels like: teepee records, jagjaguwar, woodsist

Bands like: Comets on fire, battles, black lips, ty segall, bibio, flying lotus, black mountain, boris, lightning bolt, electric wizard, woods, man man, best coast, morning benders…etc

You get the idea a place that does a good job stocking new good music of all styles.

Whats the best gift to give on Valentines day to a Game Techie?

My better half is what you call a Video game junkie. He works, lives and breathe gaming. Though I am thankful that he hasn’t crossed the overly gross stereotype nerd, being that he is a techie and works for a prestigious electronics firm, most of the time he gets all his Must haves in advance. Like Apple products, latest release on games, freebies, premium tickets to concerts and heck even field level seats on our local football stadium for the NFL season ( he already just got his for the 2011 season).
Also he has been generous with me on gifts, which puts me to shame since he is becoming difficult to shop for. Most items I would like to get him are either sold out, something he already bought, over the $300.00 mark, not from this country or special participation items.

His birthday is right smack around Valentines day being only 3 days apart of each other.
I want to give him a good gift that he would absolutely be wowed with. And for those who would say just cook him dinner. That’s difficult for me. He recently just turned Vegetarian and is switching now to Vegan which makes my cooking list getting relatively smaller.

As a note, he is a huge fan of Electronica and Trance, but prefers downloading mixes via itunes, he collects a lot of Vinyl records from rap and dj/dance singles
He is an avid Street Fighter and Capcom fan and has a vast collections of merchandise of their games
He is also a Japanaholic and loves everything Japan. especially electronics
He is a Mac user and has both an iphone and ipad.

Any Ideas for a gift or websites with cool electronic gadgets that are unique.

Where are the hidden satanic messages these days?

I have some old vinyl Judas Priest records that say “your mother sells socks in Hull” when played backwards but I am having a hard time finding any new satanic messages since MP3s became the norm.
