My dad-lone survivor of a past famous singing group-Not making anything from his records.?

The tapes,CDs and some vinyl records are still selling worldwide. In the early years there was no such thing as copyrite. My dad is currently in a nursing home and not making a penny while others are benefiting from his past work. How do I go about getting information if his music was copyrited by anyone and what can we do subsequently?

How can the recording industry save itself?

When albums were sold as vinyl records you couldn’t copy and you couldn’t steal.

Now all you need is bit torrent and a computer. Sales are down, and the music is crap.

I want to buy a guitar from my friend before he leaves the country and he told me to post ads for English/Guitar lessons on Craigslist. Will people actually respond to my ad quickly? I remember trying to sell old vinyl records on Craigslist and nobody responded at all? As far as tutoring ads goes…is this website useful? What other site could I post tutoring ads on for free?

A Couple Questions About Vinyl Records?

I’ve recently become interested in vinyl records since I’ve been getting more into older music. Yesterday I was at Sunrise (A music store that sells CD’s and sometimes shirts) and saw a little display for Johnny Cash’s new album. It had a shirt, the CD, but also a record player and the album in vinyl form. I really had no idea that they were still making vinyl records. At the counter there were also a bunch of vinyl records and a sign that said “Want a vinyl record that isn’t here? Just ask, we’ll get it!” Coincidentally that night I saw Eminem’s Relapse album in vinyl. So I was thinking, did that sign mean that they would convert the album that was asked for into a vinyl record? Or would it have to be an album that has already been produced in vinyl?

My second question is, I need a record player to play vinyl records of course, but I have no idea exactly what I need. I’m on a huge budget right now, so I can’t really pay more than $100, so I’ll have to buy a used one. But I don’t know what I need, so what is everything I need to play them?

Is there a vinyl record computer drive?

I’m serious. Does anyone sell a computer drive that will read vinyl records, obviously to convert them to digital files? A jukebox version would be nice so I could just load up all the records an rip them all at once unattended.
