How to I connect record player to computer?
Okay, I’ve got an old record player and amp that sound incredible. Because of this, I don’t want to spend another couple hundred dollars on a turntable that has a USB converter on it. There’s got to be something to convert my records without having to buy another record player.
My laptop only has USB and a 1/8″ microphone port on it. On my old computer, the microphone port worked great for transferring vinyl, but this one sounds like crap, even with the same programs, same record player, and same amp.
Does anyone know if I can buy a RCA-USB converter that will sound good? Does USB even transfer sound? Any help here would be great.

Do these vinyl converters work?
Hey, all. Listen, I’ve got 45s and LPs that just aren’t making it to CD, and if they are, they’re hard, harder and hardest to find. Take Mark Gray’s If All Of The Magic Is Gone for an example. Moe Bandy’s Woman Your Love and Ray Pillow’s Take Your Hands Off My Heart. Hell, if you do find some of this on CD, it’s a messed-up “newly recorded” version. And a friend of mine bought a CD the other day that said it was by the original artists — only to find that THERE’S A BAND CALLED THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS.
So I’m thinking of getting one of these vinyl converter boxes that runs RCA plugs in one side and a USB cable out the other. Has anyone tried this? Do they work? Do you need any special software besides iTunes for it?

Using Vinyl records in England?
I am moving to England soon, and I want to take my vinyl records with me, and buy a vinyl player when I get there. Does anyone know if I can use my U.S. made vinyls on an English record player, or should I just buy a U.S. made player, and then buy a power converter?

Vinyl LP record conversion?
Well, I have a collection of 500 or so records that i want to convert into digital ipod music format. I went over to a company that would have converted them, but they charged $20 a record, so i decided to convert them all myself. can someone tell me the best converter on the market, that will give me the best sound quality and ease of use. Also, I want to know how long it might take to convert all of them, and such. thank you!
