Information about Music Downloads
Download of free music was an unknown concept just a few years ago. If you wanted music, you had to purchase a CD or a vinyl record at the music store. Now things have changed. Everyone likes and craves free music downloads. There are sites galore with every possible format for the music aficionado to choose as their favorite free music download site. Presently in the USA, many of them only offer a limited offering of free music. These are primarily the top ten singles of only the most popular kinds of music.
Furthermore, a person can’t download the “free” music but only listen to it courtesy of an embedded mpeg player provided by the webpage. A particular webpage, lists nine optimum criteria. I have reviewed a website claiming to provide free tunes and have used these criteria to rate them wherever possible. Other web sites are organized by categories such as “what’s hot, news, shop, artists, music, movies and videos, tickets and UBL (stands for Ultimate Band List).” This location does not come close to meeting the first criteria, that of being “convenient to download”. Primarily because you can’t download a single song free, the embedded mpeg player has no function to “save” the file as something else on your computer. While this site meets the second criteria of not requiring subscription dues, it failed in being able to provide “100%” of your favorite music.
All you have to do is to conduct a search in a major search engine for the music you want to download, and a huge list of web sites will appear in a matter of seconds. You can then look through the sites you find interesting and see if the criterias mentioned above are met.
I love Celtic music, preferably bagpipes, gospel, folk, and jazz in that order. It was able to easily provide a jazz selection. There was no gospel available and could only provide a link to the most recent single of “The Chieftains”. This link could not offer a free listen but was only an advertisement.
Videos are available to purchase and there are a few accompanying a particular single. However, they cannot be downloaded freely to your computer, just like the audio mpeg. There wasn’t an easy way to find out what the site’s “cash-back guarantee” was. I don’t know how proficient their support system is for website problems but I think that it matches their inability to provide a wide range of music types. Therefore it would be wise to be cautious about sharing one’s membership information with them. In fairness, I mention that they did promise not to reveal personal information to third parties. Last, I wasn’t able to enjoy my favorite musical selection because free music downloads with no credit card needed just doesn’t exist anymore within the USA.

The Music Industry Revolution – Goodbye Bricks and Morter
Mp3 downloads are responsible for probably the biggest change in music buying habits since the invention of vinyl. Whether it will be good or bad for the industry is a matter of some dispute, but it has happened, and a period of adjustment is inevitable whilst the old guard find their feet. Into this turbulent market have entered a number of established brands but also some new brands offering digital music services. The new brands are very much internet based with no High Street footprint. These new Internet based companies are poised to take on the big boys in the brave new world of digital music.
With a philosophy of community spirit and openness, these new brands are trying to connect with consumers in a way that the established major players have not yet managed. This direct connection is crucial, both to consumer and retailer, and this has not changed since the days of physical record purchases. What has changed, however, is the amount of choice available to mp3 purchasers. This is best explained by the theory of: The Long Tail, first theorised by Chris Anderson; to paraphrase, the internet is about selling small amounts of many goods, rather than large amounts of a few goods.
To help customers through this huge amount of independent and often undiscovered content, the new digital music brands are creating a true community network. In conjunction with many well known experts and major players of the industry the philosophy is about getting the consumer involved like never before. Along with handwritten editorial content from some well known music legends, they are planning download-only mp3 albums created by renowned experts and cutting edge tastemakers. This will help guide people through the huge array of music on offer. Personal recommendations from the music industries finest, available at music lovers fingertips will be a massive draw for the new digital Megastore.
Selling to the Long Tail or niche market is where these companies really comes into their own. With a large collection of back catalogue mp3s, some unavailable anywhere else, and Indie labels clamouring to join the online portals, there is music from Every Genre for Every Generation.
A big difference between the online and physical music worlds is the ease with which it is possible to obtain illegal goods. This, as with so much else on the internet, has probably as much to do with the corporate worlds unwillingness to truly embrace the technology as it does with users willingness to thieve. The easy availability of illegal downloads can be turned to the industries advantage, and that is another thing the new breed of digital brands are successfully policing. Where possible the music from these download stores is offered in non-DRM high quality mp3 format, the industry believes that consumers do not like to be treated as criminals from the start. High quality mp3s are worth paying for, and many believe that this will be enough to stem the tide of illegal downloads. Music will also be offered in DRM-enabled WMA format to appeal to the Major labels, as this is a business necessity.
Aiming to mix both massive choice with personal recommendations, the new brands have a mission to bring the experience of the small high street record shop back into the forefront of consumers minds, and maybe bring back the love of hearing and discovering new music all over again.

What places can I go to sell videos?
Record Exchange no longer accepts trades of cassette tapes and VHS tapes. I have lots of those to trade in and I want to get money for them. They only take trades of DVDS and CDS. Is there any pawn shop where I can trade anything in? Such as Records/vinyls, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, Board games, and even toys? I need help on how I can get people to buy anything instead of sending them back at a regular store without a receipt.

Why Vintage Posters Are Hot Favorites Among Collectors?
The word ‘vintage’ sparks excitement among collectors but interestingly, a vintage collection is not limited to pricey rare collectibles. There are many such trivial items that are collected by individuals such as vintage thimbles, electrical items, clothing accessories, vinyl records etc. Vintage Posters are one of few collectibles that have a huge fan following. The visual appeal of the posters, particularly rare hand-painted 18th century ones, makes them a perfect candidate for a hobbyist’s collection.
Long before there was no electronic media to advertise products or to raise awareness, beautiful hand-drawn posters were prepared to advertise and spread awareness. However, things have changed and today such posters are looked upon as rare collectibles.
So why is vintage poster a hot favorite among collectors? Well, posters are not only used as collectibles, but also used to decorate the rooms of homes, shops and offices. They make people feel nostalgic and enliven the room and that’s why these posters are also used to adorn the walls of restaurants, retailer outlets and showrooms.
Because of the online revolution, such rare posters are available at a much affordable rates over the internet. Today, websites possess different types of posters that touch every genre, be it wine, food, historic architectures, wildlife, vehicles (cars and bikes) etc. There are also other posters that touch the sense of patriotism. These include posters with slogans and flags.
Before the advent of the internet, buying a Vintage Poster required people to bid at auctions at a very high price. But, hobby websites has simplified the hassles of purchases. Now you can select posters of your choice from a comprehensive online catalog and buy them at a much cheaper price. Moreover, you can directly order them for a free home delivery. They also offer you to choose and compare prices before buying. As an advice, always visit a variety of sites and compare prices and varieties before buying vintage posters.
A vintage-poster not only gives you a nostalgic feeling, but also serves as an invaluable asset. You also have the chance to make your rival collectors envious of your vintage posters collection.

Abby Road = great record?
Yesterday I went to this cool record shop in Atlanta and traded in a few cds to get Abby Road by the Beatles on vinyl. I love, and its the only thing Ive listened to since. I’ve listened to The Beatles before then, and loved them, but I don’t think Abby Road is their best recording. What other records by Beatles or Lennon should I check out?
I want to get Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts too…

Record stores in New York City?
All right, bros, I’m admittedly a Maryland hipster, and I’m going to New York for vacation this summer. The hotel’s in Time’s Square, so I’m gonna have pretty much the best time ever. I suppose it worth mentioning that I’m cashing a shitload of paychecks and hitting the record shops New York has in store for me.
I know I can find these by googling “record stores near Time’s Square”, but that doesn’t turn up any opinions.
So I’m asking you, what’s the best record store near Time’s Square? Preferably one with a decent ratio of vinyl:CD’s.
Also – the term “hipster” should hint that I’m an avid indie fan. Work with that.

What is the point in some hip hop stores having records?
I don’t know if I’m wrong, but I thought when DJs use vinyl records it’s just the home-made pre-recorded beats for their MC’s music, not the music with words in it. Or are the records used to get off other beats? I don’t get it! Or is it just for anyone to listen to? What’s the main purpose of vinyl records being sold in record shops? Is it mainly for DJs, or just for people to listen to?
