EXPERIENCED DJs!!! I NEED YOUR HELP AND ADVICE!!?
I am looking to start Dj’ing and hopefully in a couple years when i am more experienced, i’ll have my own gigs. But for now, im not sure what to start with. I know one thing for sure..I DO NOT WANT TO USE VINYL RECORDS. i have a laptop with TONS of music that i want to use to mix and i dont mind buying the dj software to mix and scratch (VirtualDJ, Serato, Audacity, whatever). I just dont know what turntables/mixer to buy that i dont need vinyl records. I want to have still mix and scratch but with the mp3 music i have on my laptop. Can someone please tell me everything i need to get me started and what you recommend(im also on a budget so nothing too expensive). I was looking at the Numark ttxusb. It would be nice to get a pair of those along with a mixer but not sure if those are just vinyl turntables or if i can use them with my laptop to mix. What do you think?

Need Help About DJ Setup?
I am contemplating whether I should buy an all in one digital DJ system or two vinyl record turntables. If i bought turntables and a mixer what is everything else I would need and how can i set the turntables up to a laptop to run a DJ Software to feed my music? What free DJ softwares are there? How do I get the music? What kind of vinyl records do I need? Ive heard something about like timecoded or something…lots of questions but im learning this is hard and complicated. Thanks for all tips and answers.

What is the best and easiest way to convert cassette tapes and vinyls to CD or MP3′s?
My dad’s record and tape collection is huge. I was looking through it and it’s really a shame that all that music is going to waste. Since Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, etc. won’t release their music onto iTunes, I need a way to get this awesome music onto a CD or straight onto my iPod. I want as little rumbling as possible. Which is better, software or expensive equiptment? Thank you in advance
.
How does one transfer old records to files for an iPod?
Any suggestions on the mechanics of transferring songs from vinyl records to my computer so I can listen to them on my iPod? I don’t know what hardware and software are needed.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Pro audio recording equipment for home use?
I’m looking to upgrade my recording equipment for transfering vinyl and tapes to digital. I’m currently using Vegas PC audio software and using iTunes to convert the .wma files to .mp3. I’d like to maybe upgrade to equipment that records in real time and one where I can do seamless/gapless recordings (for live shows) and create the track cuts on the fly. I seem to always have tiny silent gaps between tracks with my current setup. I’m not rich, so I’m looking for some affordable options (definitely under $1,000). Thanks!

How do I set up an music & chat radio show/podcast, that is legal and cheap/free?
I want to set up an internet show or podcast in conjunction with some friends. Between us we have a vast collection of rare records ranging from very early 1930s records up to modern day stuff, covering all formats (vinyl, CD, mp3s, cassettes, the lot!) We feel that people should hear this stuff and basically want to start a very relaxed show where we play our favourite music to each-other and sit and chat about it in between – no planned playlist.
Ideally we would like:
- for this to be legal, so that copyright/royalties are covered.
- it to be streamed legally and free online as some kind of live radio show or as a podcast.
- to not involve the listener having to download too much software and for it to be PC AND Mac friendly as we are Mac users.
- for it to be relatively inexpensive. We can pay a little but are broke students so not much!
How can I do this??
Thanks in advance
Alice

Starting out with DJ’ing, Can anyone give me some advice with DJ systems, software ect?
Ok, Ive recently decided (after about a year of producing music) that i think it would be a good idea to learn to DJ to help promote my music and other peoples…Ive been looking around and have come to the decision that ill like to start with a DVS(Digital vinyl system) as i cannot afford vinyl and this would be a great substitute. I don’t know much about DJ’ing at all (Mostly what hardware + software too get).
After looking around some websites i found some software like this,
http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/servlet/Info?Track=RELOOPSPIN2P
But i have some questions.
.Would i be able to buy any turntables and mixer and be able to use them with ReLoop?
.Would a need a particularly high spec laptop to use the software with?
Also,
I would find it very help full if someone could post me a couple of links for some hardware and software that would cater for my needs, i have a budjet of around £400-£500 but dont worry about going over it. Im just so lost with it all i dont know where to start!
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Aidan
P.S. I would preffer some direct drive turntables but would settle for other options.
